Flail mowers cut better than brush hogs. They mow down tall grass into fine mulch, and tackle brambles and thicker material easily. You may find you can get a satisfactory cut on your lawn with your flail mower, even after slashing your fields and trails.

This is the larger of the two Hurricane series flail mower from American manufacturer, BEFCO. The smaller H40 series is for tractors with 16-40 horsepower and comes with a 16″ offset. You can find that for sale here.
